Safety caravan 'wrecked by vandals'
A caravan which was used to teach children how to behave safely at home has been damaged by vandals, it has been reported.
News Shopper has stated that the £2,000 vehicle, which was parked at Acacia Hall in Dartford High Street, was targeted by the criminals on April 20th.
The damage has been described as "a kick in the teeth" by Gail King, chairman of north Kent's Safety in Action group, adding that the news is also "heartbreaking", the news source commented.
She said: "The caravan has been in the car park for around four months and it is considered quite a secure site because it is padlocked.
"The sad thing is, it sounds as though young children did it and they could be children who come this year or were involved last year."
Safety in Action was set up in 1985 and teaches children how to act safely in different scenarios.
This follows the Highways Agency's release of a new DVD, Fit to Tow, for which it has teamed up with TyreSafe and television personality Carol Smillie in order to spread the message of caravan safety among caravan insurance customers.
