Face-to-face booking preferred by holidaymakers
People in the UK looking to go on a caravan holiday this year may be happier dealing with a travel agent face-to-face than booking online, it has been claimed.
According to research from consumer body Which Holiday?, some people prefer a more 'human' approach to sorting out their holiday.
It may be that such a method is also more preferable for those looking to take out caravan insurance.
Katie Shipp, researcher for Which Holiday?, stated that a face-to-face approach is also a better idea for people who are not tech-savvy.
She pointed to findings from the group which showed that one-fifth of holidaymakers prefer to use an agent than the internet.
"There are still people out there who like to use a travel agent...They just prefer to deal with people face to face," said Ms Shipp.
It may be that such an approach to booking a caravan holiday is taken by David May from Weymouth, who recently won a competition in the Dorset Echo.
After picking up the £2,500 prize, he commented that he would be taking his wife on holiday with the winnings.
"We went four or five years ago and liked it so much and now we can afford to go again," he said.
