Trip 'could be enhanced by good travel guide'
Travellers going abroad this year may get the best out of their holiday by taking a travel guide to aid them, it has been claimed.
According to publisher Footprint, a thorough book with information on the area being visited can prove to be a worthwhile addition to the suitcase of anybody heading away in a caravan this year.
It may also be a good idea for those going on holiday to take out a caravan insurance policy, should their vehicle be involved in a collision or pick up knocks.
Andy Riddle, managing director of the company, which releases guides for 150 countries, remarked that people heading abroad can benefit from a good guide book.
He said: "A well-written travel guide produced by a dedicated author and publisher...can be a shortcut to all the best opportunities."
Last month, Lonely Planet travel guide writer Thomas Kohnstamm suggested that he was not completely truthful when writing for the group.
He said that he "plagiarised and made up large sections of his books".
