United in protest: Caravan owners speak out against warehouse plans

The residents of a caravan retirement community have come together in an effort to fight plans which they believe will ruin the site, it has been reported.

According to the Grantham Journal, people staying at Cheveley Park are angry that officials in the area did not consult them over a proposal to build a warehouse development next door to the attraction.

The publication stated that they were only made aware of the plans on April 15th, then told them that they had approximately three weeks - until May 6th - in which to appeal.

It may be that people staying at the site fear that the development will attract increased traffic which could jeopardise their caravan insurance policies.

Now a petition has been set up by Ged Hodson and he is looking to pass it on to officials from the region.

"This is a residential area and they are trying to plonk three massive warehouses right on top of us."

Meanwhile, the Morpeth Herald reports that the borugh's councilors have accepted an application to house 40 static caravans at Longdyke Caravan Park in Bockenfield.
