Firm pays out for caravan damage

A caravan insurance company has decided that it will pay out for a motor home damaged by vandals in an attack last month, it has been reported.

News Shopper has stated that Royal & Sun Alliance initially announced that it would not pay to repair the £2,000-worth of damage to the vehicle, which was targeted in a secure car park at Acacia Hall on Dartford High Street.

The company originally commented that it would not be paying out because the automobile was being used for business and the caravan insurance policy taken out by owners Kent Safety in Action did not cover such a scenario.

Zoe Reilly, external communications adviser for the company, commented that they have now reversed their decision.

She said: "Having reviewed the case, in view of the circumstances and as a gesture of goodwill, we are paying the claim in full."

Over the weekend, an accident involving a caravan on the A38 caused trouble for motorists in the area, it has been reported.

According to the Express & Echo, the Exeter-bound highway closed one lane, resulting in long tailbacks.
