Caravan park scheme approved by planners

A new toilet and shower block has been approved at an East Riding caravan site by local officials, according to a news source in the area.

Leven & Brandesburton Today has commented that no objections were raised by parish councillors over the construction of the building close to the site's entrance.

However, two local residents have stated that they are not happy with the development of the block, adding that flooding problems last June show that the park is vulnerable.

Indeed, it may be that by putting the site in jeopardy in such a manner can have a serious effect on caravan insurance policies if cover firms consider it enough of a risk to increase prices.

"The new site will put even more ground area under concrete, so increasing the amount of water into the drains," one of the protesters told the news source.

But the council's report has stated that the "building will not have a detrimental impact upon the character of the area".

This comes as the Morpeth Herald has stated that the owner of Longdyke Holiday Park has commented that that the installation of static caravans at the site is not a long-term fixture.
