Caravan drivers 'should be aware of Low Emission Zone rules'
Caravan drivers are among those who have been warned to check their vehicle's emission levels ahead of phase two of the Low Emission Zone that will be initiated on July 7th.
Transport for London started the scheme in February to charge lorries over twelve tonnes that do not meet strict emission standards. In July the next phase expands the project to include caravans and lorries over 3.5 tonnes.
Nick Fairholme, head of the London Low Emission Zone, said: "Because the aim of the Low Emission Zone is to improve London's air quality, TfL would much prefer operators of non-compliant vehicles to meet the emissions standards rather than pay a daily charge."
