Caravan park plans result in inquiry
A Dorset caravan park is looking for approval to replace touring pitches with permanent plots, according to a local news source.
This will be the second time that Waterside Holiday Park has looked for switch the 70 touring pitches for 45 permanent spots, after originally having plans turned down in November 2007, according to the Dorset Echo.
Now the attraction is hoping that Weymouth and Portland Borough Council will approve the move, the news source added.
Indeed, by doing so it may be that caravan insurance policies are affected, as cover firms could view the switch as indicative of an increased risk.
And Preston-in-Weymouth councillor Peter Chapman has stated that Dorset's appeal could be ruined by two many motor homes.
"Visitors love our countryside and our views, not the sight of rank after rank of caravans," said the official.
This comes as police in Avebury have warned travellers heading to the village for this year's summer solstice, it has been reported.
According to the Swindon Advertiser, officials in the region will tow away vehicles which are illegally parked in the area.
