'Suspicious' caravan blaze investigated
Officials from the Cambrian Railway Society have said that a blaze in a caravan at the organisation's Oswestry base is being treated as "suspicious".
The local Shropshire Star reported that the blaze broke out earlier today (May 14th) in a caravan at the group's Oswald Road facilities.
According to the paper, officials from the society said that they think the fire could be linked to two other arson attacks they suffered earlier this year.
The fire was reported at just after 12.30am and two fire crews quickly subdued the blaze. No one was hurt, but the caravan was destroyed.
Firefighters told the paper that the cause of the inferno was still unclear and added that the matter had now been passed to the police.
The Cambrian Railway Society was formed in 1972 and has worked since then "gathering an invaluable collection of artefacts from railways in the former Cambrian Railways Company (CR) area".
This area used to stretch across most of mid and north Wales.
