Caravan drivers 'should take care when towing'
Caravan enthusiasts in the West Midlands who are travelling south-west along the M5 today will be targeted by warning signs from the Highways Agency.
Drivers are being reminded to take extra care when towing a caravan or trailer.
This is in support of a Central Motorway Policing Group (CMPG) campaign aimed at reducing the number of caravan related accidents on the motorway.
Last year, officers from CMPG and the Highways Agency attended over a thousand towing related incidents on motorways in the West Midlands.
Jenny Moten from the Highways Agency said: "Using our variable messaging signs along this stretch of the motorway will help us to remind drivers to take extra care when towing."
Officers from CMPG and the Highways Agency at the southbound Strensham service area on the M5 today (May 23rd) between 9:00 and 17:30 GMT to offer help and advice to caravan owners.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail is predicting a bank holiday of rain, traffic jams and rail chaos.
