Newspaper names top campers' pubs
Campers looking for some excellent food and drink during their caravan holiday this summer should look no further than the Guardian's list of the best campsite-handy pubs.
The newspaper names 14 establishments close to UK campsites where holidaymakers can relax and enjoy a delicious meal without stoking up the camping stove.
Alastair Sawday says caravanners heading to Cornwall should try the Halzephron Inn which is located near the Gunwalloe Caravan Park in Helston.
Boasting "cosy" eating areas and a patio with a sea view, this pub serves up dishes such as roast monkfish with saffron mussels followed by raspberry pavlova.
Further north in Cumbria, the Langstrath Country Inn is just a stone's throw from the Stonethwaite Campsite and according to Sawday is great for local produce, with Cumbrian Galloway steak and Morecambe Bay potted shrimps on the menu.
Other camping locations featured in the list include Denbighshire in north Wales, Kingsbridge in Devon and Aston Cantlow in Warwickshire.
Figures from Haven Holidays show that more Brits are choosing to holiday in the UK rather than travel abroad and caravanning could be a great way to enjoy a budget holiday.
