New caravan park in Lowestoft to open next year
Those looking to purchase caravan insurance may be interested to know that holiday company Park Holidays UK will be opening a new caravan park in Lowestoft, scheduled to open midway through 2009.
The firm have paid £1.5 million for a 99-year lease on the land situated by the sea, which will see additional £3 million invested by Waveney District Council.
It is estimated that the newly developed site will attract up to 15,000 tourists each year.
Park Holidays UK plan to install 150 new static caravans, an area for tents and approximately 70 pitches for caravan owners who wish to bring their own vehicles to the area.
Stephen Ardley, the council's portfolio holder for health and wellbeing, said: "We now move a step closer to the day when tourists and residents alike return to the area, revitalising north Lowestoft and providing outstanding facilities for us all to be proud of."
Park Holidays UK currently runs 25 parks on the south coast of Britain in locations such as Devon, Dorset, Sussex, Essex and Suffolk.
