German tourist board offers caravan holiday tips

The German tourist board has released its camping guide in English for campers and caravan owners planning to tour the country.

Buyers of the guide will find it contains details of more than 1,000 sites throughout Germany including locations and even GPS coordinates for campers using satellite navigation systems, Easier reports.

The Federal Association of German Campsites has also included reference prices and indications of average costs for a family with a car and caravan.

Caravan Insurance

Those on a tight budget will also be pleased to find information about special rates, out-of-season discounts and inclusive packages.

However, all travellers, whether on a budget or not, should ensure that they have adequate caravan insurance before setting out on any holidays.

The Campsite in Germany guide caters for a broad spectrum of holidaymakers, whether they are families on a summer holiday or travellers looking for a long-term pitch from which to explore the surrounding area.

Holidaymakers taking a caravan to Europe will be able to travel on the autobahn at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, the Germany Tourism website notes.

Those wishing to travel at 100km/h will have to pass a TUV (MOT) to determine if their vehicle is safe at that speed.
