Caravan owners at Haven's Devon Cliffs Holiday Park near Exmouth helped to raise £1,600 for charity recently by attending a special Gala Day.

The event included traditional gala activities such as tombolas and raffles as well as some unique, fun-filled contests involving inflatable gladiators, the Exmouth Herald reports.

Held on the recent May bank holiday Monday, the Gala Day was one of several fund-raising activities planned at the Haven resort throughout the holiday season.

Entertainments manager Emma O'Hara told the newspaper: "It was a really good day and hundreds of our holidaymakers and caravan owners enjoyed it."

The money raised from the event will be donated to Cancer Research and the Children's Trust, both of which have been nominated by Haven Holidays.

Devon Cliffs Holiday Park boasts a wide range of amenities for caravan insurance customers to enjoy, including a new family entertainment centre, a nine-hole golf course, and outdoor pool with waterslides and direct access to the nearby beach.
