Arsonists blamed for caravan blaze

A caravan owner in the Lancashire town of Nelson found his mobile home was destroyed in a blaze at the weekend.

A group of young arsonists are believed to have started a fire close to the caravan on Saturday morning, This is Lancashire reports.

Firefighter Tom Ashworth told the news website: "Witnesses saw hooded youths leaving the incident shortly before it went up in flames. When we got there it was well alight."

Mr Ashworth and his crew managed to put out the flames before they had chance to spread to a nearby garage, but the caravan was ruined in the fire.

Caravans are becoming increasingly popular among British holidaymakers, which may indicate the necessity of static and touring caravan insurance policies.

According to The Times, caravan holiday company Haven has seen a 30 per cent increase in bookings for the summer holidays as Brits look for cheaper ways to enjoy a relaxing break.
