Wind warning for caravan owners
Motorists looking to tow a caravan in the next few days have been warned to watch out for strong winds, it has been reported.
The Daily Mail has stated that strong winds as high as 70 mph hit parts of northern and eastern England, north Wales, Scotland and the midlands over the weekend.
It may be that such harsh weather can have a serious effect on caravan insurance policies in these areas, as cover firms could increase the cost of a deal should they consider the region a risk in which to own a motor home.
According to forecaster Dave Elliott, the summer presents a potentially dangerous time as it is "the time of year when people are driving caravans up and down the motorway and people are out in the countryside camping".
This comes a week after a fire destroyed three caravans at a holiday park in Morecambe, according to a local news source.
A report from the Visitor has found that six firefighters were required to wear breathing apparatus while tackling the blaze at Ocean Edge Caravan Park.
