Diamond anniversary pair 'spent honeymoon in a caravan'
A couple this year celebrating 60 years of marriage spent their honeymoon in a caravan, it has been revealed.
Lillian and Joe Thirlwell from New Ollerton marked their nuptials in a motor home and are now commemorating their diamond wedding anniversary, according to the Mansfield Chad.
The news source added that the couple have so far received a large haul of cards from well-wishers - 50 - as well as a special congratulatory message from the Queen.
In order to celebrate, Mr and Mrs Thirlwell are hoping to use some of the money they have received to fund a new holiday - although if they plan to head to a caravan park it may be a good idea to take out a thorough caravan insurance policy.
Meanwhile, government officials are to intervene in Oxford in order to make sure that people still living in caravans following last year's flooding do not have any extra expenditure.
According to a report in the Oxford Mail, officials will provide cash to local authorities so that the flood victims' council tax bills are waived.
