Stop put to caravan rally at Fairwood
A caravan event due to commence at Fairwood has been thwarted after the Gower Society raised objections against it, a local news source has stated.
According to the South Wales Evening Post, the group has stated that the event, which was set to be held at Fairwood Corner Farm from September 18th to 20th, may be in breach of legislation.
The Gower Society, which on its website claims to guard the first designated area of outstanding beauty in the UK, believes that the number of rallies the Caravan Club holds at the site may be damaging.
It may be that the events, at which as many as 60 vehicles can show up, have a serious effect on caravan insurance policies in the region, as cover firms could view the vehicles of those attending as at risk.
"We are concerned at the number of rallies held in the area of natural beauty each year; the society would wish to see an official stated policy on their effect," said a Gower Society spokesperson.
Meanwhile, four caravan owners with vehicles parked at Lawton Street car park have been handed notices to leave, according to the Congleton Guardian.
