Planners turn down Mickleby caravan application

Proposals to install two more static caravan plots at a site in Mickleby have been given the red light by planning officials, a local news source has reported.

According to the Whitby Gazette, the planning committee for the North York Moors National Park believes that the extra vehicles cannot be justified.

This could prove to be good news for people with caravan insurance in the area, as the increase in the number of motorhomes may result in a rise in cover costs if officials view the area as representative of an increased risk.

Val Dilcock, chief planning officer, remarked that park policy has prevented the installation of the vehicle.

Indeed, it states that new models should be set up in established parts of woodland or forest.

The news comes following that of a caravan rally scheduled to go ahead at Fairwood, which has been given a hostile reaction by protestors.

Local nature group the Gower Society has claimed that the exhibition, which is organised by the Caravan Club, could prove to be a problem for local areas of natural beauty.
