Top award for caravan based on Peugeot technology
A top industry honour has been awarded to a caravan that has been built around technology from automobile manufacturer Peugeot.
Judges at the Caravan Club's Motor Caravan Design and Drive Awards 2008 voted the Elddis Autoquest 120 overall winner ahead of 40 other competitors.
They stated that the vehicle, which is built on the Peugeot Boxer 330 SWB chassis, has "every essential in a small package", citing practicality, value and electrics among such necessities.
However, some people may find that the features result in more expensive caravan insurance policies, as cover firms could see it as a risk.
This is the second time the company behind the vehicle, the Explorer Group, has been honoured in such a manner by the Caravan Club.
"Our customers like the combination of the practicality developed by our designers and the modern, easy to drive, economical to run features of the Peugeot Boxer," remarked managing director of the Explorer Group Rob Quine.
The Explorer Group offers a number of different vehicles across the Elddis range, including the Elddis Crusader and the Elddis Avante Club.
