Officers arrest one in caravan crime spree investigation
A man has been arrested in relation to a caravan crime spree which saw a number of vehicles targeted across Norfolk, a local news source has reported.
The Norfolk Eastern Daily Press has stated that there have been 80 incidents in the region, with local caravan parks targeted.
It may be that the arrest of the man sees motor home owners breathe a sigh of relief, as they could consider their vehicles safe as well as their caravan insurance policies.
According to chief inspector Steve Jones, officials "have been chasing [the man] for a period of time".
"The thefts created a lot of anxiety and stress for the owners and left a trail of destruction which has also needed the involvement of insurance companies," said the official.
This follows the news that officials in a village in Bedforshire have decided against allowing a traveller encampment to be built in the area.
Hundreds of protestors cheered on Monday as plans for the site in Bletsoe were rejected.
