Plans for luxury caravan site revealed

Tourism industry figures have revealed their plans to construct a state-of-the-art caravan park near Carnforth, it has been reported.

According to the Lancashire and Morecambe Citizen, the site will prove to be fruitful for the area's economy, as it will inject around £2 million per year into the area as well as create 20 new jobs.

In addition, the park will feature approximately 120 privately-owned luxury caravan holiday homes and around 200 plots for people with vehicles visiting the site.

But caravan insurance policy holders in the area may find that they end up paying more for cover, as companies could judge the influx of motor homes indicative of a greater risk and increase prices.

The news source added that development by local contractors will begin later this year, along with staff recruitment, provided the plans gain approval.

This comes as a proposal to increase the size of a travellers' site in South Yorkshire has been approved, it has been reported.

According to the Star, the plans have been given the go ahead on a trail basis of five years and will be revaluated after that.
