Residents oppose new caravan development

Villagers in East Anglia have voiced their concerns over a new caravan park to be set up in the area, a local news source has reported.

According to the East Anglia Daily Times, the residents believe that the site will increase the size of the Chediston and Linstead village by more than 100 per cent.

It added traffic problems, a lack of amenities and potential flooding and noise pollution were all concerns for the villagers.

Similarly, people with caravans in the region could find that the extra vehicles invalidate their caravan insurance policies, as cover companies could view them as a risk to other models.

Len Gooch, the agent speaking on behalf of the site applicants, remarked that the county surveyor has raised no issue with flooding.

He said: "At the moment surface water goes to the ditch, but we will put in some new ponds, using surface evaporation to help deal with the problem."

This comes as hundreds of villagers in East Lindsey have voiced their opposition over plans to save a caravan site located in Woodhall Spa's Jubilee Park, according to Horncastle News.
