Cash machine theft at caravan park
Police are appealing for information about the theft of a cash machine from a caravan site in East Yorkshire.
Thieves took the ATM from the Low Skirlington Caravan Site in Skipsea in the early hours of Monday morning.
A 999 call was made to them at around 03:36 BST on July 14th reporting that someone had stolen the machine, but as yet no-one has been arrested in connection with the theft.
Police believe that the perpetrators of the crime used an assortment of tools and equipment to extract it.
Detective Sergeant Tom Napier, who is investigating the case, stated: "This is a busy holiday park and someone must have seen something … We want to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone entering the park in the early hours of this morning."
While holidaymakers should ensure that they have sufficient caravan insurance to cover them for losses arising from a theft from, or of, their vehicle, the Home Office has issued guidelines to minimise the chances of falling victim to this.
It warns caravan owners to immobilise their vehicles, even when they stop briefly, and to ensure that there is an alarm which is activated whenever the vehicle is left unattended.
