Caravan holidays an eco-friendly alternative
Increasing numbers of UK holidaymakers are looking at camping and caravanning as cheaper, eco-friendly options, it has been claimed.
Approximately 45 per cent of Brits are looking for greener holidays and camping and caravan trips have proved a popular alternative to low-cost but high-emission budget flights, reports the Coventry Telegraph.
It was noted by Camping and Caravanning Club that there has been a shift in the demographic attracted by this kind of vacation.
The organisation asserted that while holidays of this kind used to be the preserve of the over-60s, the vast majority of those choosing breaks in a tent or caravan are families or people in their late 40s.
Anyone considering taking a caravan holiday should ensure that they have suitable caravan insurance for their vehicle before setting off.
The newspaper also reported that other green breaks were becoming popular, including stays in "luxury tents", which some farmers have set up on their properties.
Confused.com recently noted that caravan holidays were becoming an increasingly popular and cheap option for Brits who are tightening their belts.
However, the price comparison site also claimed that large numbers of caravan owners were failing to get proper motor caravan insurance on their homes away from home.
