Caravan storage company doubles capacity
A Yorkshire-based caravan storage firm has acquired a similar business in Nottinghamshire in a move that will more than double the number of pitches it can offer.
Leeds Caravan Storage's new 5.8-acre site in Worksop provides the firm with space for an additional 380 caravans or motor homes, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post. Before this, the company's original site in Kirkstall Valley only enabled them to store 271 units.
The company also plans to create room for a further 120 pitches in Leeds, as well as installing a workshop and store in the next few years. Kirsty McFadden, one of the founders of the business, commented: "The new site in Worksop is a well-established business that has provided a great service to its customer base for over 20 years."
Ms McFadden and her husband are now looking for further opportunities to purchase existing storage sites and land - particularly in Yorkshire - in a bid to add a third location to their portfolio.
Caravan owners thinking of putting their vehicles into storage should still ensure that their caravans are insured, even though they are off the road. American Express recently reported that there has been a rise in the popularity of driving holidays in the UK and that one in three Britons were considering taking a caravan holiday this year.
