Extra spots for caravans at festival

Extra pitches have been provided for caravan owners going to Ireland's largest ever country music festival.

Organisers of the event, which takes place on August 2nd and 3rd, have included 50 extra spaces for those who wish to take their caravans, as well as another 150 spots for motor homes, reports the Strabane Chronicle. James McGarrity, of JW Promotions, commented: "It has taken years of planning to organise this summer's event with such a high calibre line-up and fantastic entertainment facilities. It is our aim to establish UTV CountryFest 2008 as a family event and the definitive country festival in the UK."

Around 50 acts from the UK, US and Ireland will be performing at Dungannon Park on four separate stages. Performers confirmed for the festival include Ricky Skaggs, Nanci Griffith, Stonewall Jackson and Gretchen Peters. In addition to the music, there will also be a food village and family fun area, which will feature fairground rides, a bouncy castle and gift stalls.

Caravan owners thinking of attending UTV CountryFest 2008 may wish to extend their stay and visit the Kilkenny Arts Festival between August 8th and 17th. Anyone considering taking their caravans to a festival this summer should ensure that they obtain suitable caravan insurance.
