Caravan holidays provide a natural environment for kids
One of the Caravan Club's most senior members has stated that he found caravan holidays were ideal for his children as it allowed them freedom to entertain themselves outdoors in a safe environment.
Douglas King took his first trip 54 years ago and soon began to take his family caravanning, finding it was a cheaper break than travelling abroad, reports the Daily Express. He commented: "The children occupied themselves and, most importantly, were safe as the caravan park was away from the road. "It was great to see the kids outdoors - and I realised it was a more natural environment in which to bring them up."
As well as providing an opportunity for his offspring to play outside, Mr King stated that trips in school holidays enabled him and his wife to teach them about history as they toured the UK taking in York, Bath and Blenheim Palace among other destinations. Vacationers thinking of opting for caravan breaks should ensure that they take out suitable caravan insurance before setting off on their trip.
The Herald recently reported that increasing numbers of holidaymakers are opting for caravanning or camping in Scotland due to the strength of the euro and the economic downturn.
