Caravan owners fall back in love with the UK

The recent boom in caravanning holidays in the UK can be attributed not only to the ongoing credit crunch, but to Britons' rediscovery of their love for the country, according to the Caravan Club.

Recent figures from the organisation claim that caravanning is now the most popular paid-for type of break in the UK, while sales of motorhomes in the last ten years have more than trebled, reports the Times.

Sites throughout the country are reporting that their bookings are already up by approximately 8 per cent on last year and experts in the sector suggest that this will rise. Nikki Nichol, head of PR at the Caravan Club, commented: "People are beginning to fall back in love with the UK and there's so much of the country that people haven't explored and in a motorhome you have the freedom to do that."

Briton's thinking of renewing their love for their country with a more localised vacation should ensure that they take out proper caravan insurance before departing. In related news, longest-standing Caravan Club member Doug King recently told the Daily Express that he found trips of this sort perfect for teaching his children the history of the UK, as well as allowing them freedom to play and roam in safety.
