Year round caravan site proposed for Peak District

A proposal has been submitted to build a caravan site for up to 20 vehicles in the Peak District.

The park would be open all year and located at Foolow near Eyam, reports the Star. Both static and mobile caravans would be eligible to use the Brosterfield Caravan Site. The application for a certificate of lawful use has been handed in to the Peak District National Park Authority's planning department.

In related news, the Coventry Telegraph reported that the Nuneaton and Bedworth borough council recently received an application to build a new caravan site on a vacant plot of land in Bedworth. The prospective developer wishes to place four caravans on the spot which will then be occupied by two families. Owners of a garden centre in Burnley are also hoping to convert unused land into a caravan site which they hope will house around 200 vehicles and be surrounded by a two-metre security fence, reports the Burnley Citizen.

Holidaymakers thinking of using an existing park should ensure that they take out suitable caravan insurance to protect them in the event of theft, breakdown or the outbreak of a fire.
