Daihatsu to debut new Terios

Daihatsu has announced plans to showcase its new 4x4 Terios models at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The Terios has been redesigned with what is seen as a more European styling and follows a similar re-launch last year of Daihatsu's Sirion range.

The company claims that the redesign of the vehicle better combines off-road and urban properties. It incorporates a new 1,500cc engine and has a tighter 9.8m turning circle for narrower roads.

Its cosmetic redesign meanwhile gives it a more compact feel than previous models.

Sales of the Terios increased in the UK last year and the previous model has already sold 300,000 units worldwide, making it the firm's top selling vehicle.

Other companies such as Suzuki are also launching new 4x4 designs.

The news follows a recent AA report that shows Londoners are increasingly likely to buy an off-road vehicle, despite the capital's abundance of roads!

Older drivers in particular were likely to buy vehicles like the Terios, which has been redesigned to improve visibility and safety.

The Terios will be displayed to the public in Geneva from the 2nd March, going on UK sale in May.
