Many don't have time for holidays

Many small business owners in the UK claim they do not have enough time to take a holiday, according to a new report.

The study by Lloyds TSB found 14 per cent of business owners take one to five days holiday a year, while 20 per cent of respondents said they cannot take a single day off in a year.

However, Anne Marie Koukourava, partnership director at the firm, said that with technology such as laptops and PDAs, business owners can still look after their business interests while away.

For those looking for greater flexibility when it comes to holidays, caravanning may be the ideal solution.

People planning to take expensive items with them on their travels - such as laptops - ought to check their caravan insurance policies cover them, according to a spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers.

The expert advised people taking items away that are more expensive than the limits of their policy to ensure they are added to either their specialist caravan policy or home insurance policy.
