Fire service tackles caravan blaze
A fire in a caravan has been successfully extinguished by emergency services in West Sussex.
Two fire engines from Crawley tackled the blaze at a farm on Monday afternoon, the West Sussex County Times reports.
According to the newspaper, the cause of the fire - which could require a claim on caravan insurance - is not yet known.
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said it had been a "very quiet day" until the incident occurred at 16:30 BST.
"The fire was contained and doused with a hose reel," he explained.
Last week, emergency services were called to a four-berth caravan fire in Misley, Essex, the East Anglian Daily Times reports.
The blaze was linked to a number of arson attacks in the area, according to the newspaper.
Frances Harris, who owned the caravan, said: "In a sleepy little place like this, where we have lived for 15 years, you just do not expect something like that.
"We have never had any problems before; it was like living in a nightmare. We were just in the middle of it all."
Fire crews also attended several car fires in the area, which are also being investigated by police.
