Lancashire sees increase in caravan bookings

People in Lancashire are putting the credit crunch behind them and going on caravan holidays - but only around the corner.

According to Henry Wild, owner of the Moss Wood caravan park in Cockerham, petrol prices have prompted more people in the county to take their holidays at its tourist areas, the Visitor reports.

So far, bookings from locals have risen significantly this year, caravan insurance customers may be interested to know.

Commenting on the trend, Mr Wild said: "Overall, this is very good news for Lancashire, not least because it will ensure that tourism spending is more evened out across the region."

Nikki Nichol, head of PR at the Caravan Club, recently claimed caravanning is now "the most popular it has ever been".

Membership of the club continues to grow each year, Ms Nichol stated.

Last month, the association reported that bookings for caravan and motorhome sites across the UK have recorded an eight per cent increase in booking, compared with last year, the Times reports.

Whether people are planning to take their caravans across the country or to a local park, they may wish to ensure they have adequate insurance.
