Family survive caravan crash
A family have emerged unscathed from an accident while towing their caravan to their holiday destination of Torbay.
The couple and their two children were within ten miles of the town when their four-berth caravan jack-knifed and damaged the rear of their car, the South Devon Herald Express reports.
According to the newspaper, four fire engines attended the scene of the crash but ambulance staff said the family were not injured in the incident.
Watch commander from Newton Abbot Phil Scammells said: "Our job was to make the vehicles safe and make sure the Honda was stable. There was quite a lot of damage to their caravan.
"Police coned off one lane where the van was projecting on to the carriageway, because the traffic was quite busy."
Mr Scammells said the police then coned off one lane of the road and called a breakdown service to attend to the damaged vehicle, caravan insurance customers may be interested to know.
Meanwhile, police in Warminster are investigating a blaze which destroyed, the Wiltshire times and Chippenham News reports.
Fire teams had to deal with several liquid petroleum gas cylinders close to the scene, the newspaper stated.
