Hull firm plans to develop green bathroom solutions
Environmentally-conscious caravan insurance customers may soon be able to take advantage of the latest green technology from a Hull-based firm.
RD Plastic Moulding, which manufactures vacuum-formed plastic parts for the caravan industry, recently returned from a research trip in Italy, the Hull Daily Mail reports.
According to the news provider, the firm now plans to develop the kind of technology its representatives saw while visiting caravan interiors firm MP3's factory in Bologna.
Sue Irwin, unit manager at the firm, said the company is "committed" to further strengthening its caravan business and aims to "stay at the forefront of caravan bathroom design".
"Keeping abreast of the latest developments, materials and greener production processes is fundamental to achieving such objectives," Ms Irwin commented.
The research undertaken by those on the trip will help the company bring "fresh new thinking" to the caravan market this year, she added.
In February this year, Nikki Nichol, head of PR at the Caravan Club, said caravans and motor homes have "progressed hugely" over the years.
Many people's view of caravanning is "stuck in the 70s", she said, stating that people are now able to enjoy under floor heating, power shower, full-sized cookers and plasma screen televisions.
