From China to caravans for medallist
The winner of a bronze Olympic medal Louis Smith is to get away from the pressures of the last few weeks with a caravanning holiday.
Following his win of the first British medal for gymnastics in eight decades, the teenager is to leave the press and publicity far behind and escape to Great Yarmouth on a caravan trip, the BBC reports.
Smith explained he had missed the holiday season and so would be stumping up the cash for the caravan hire to make sure his friends could all come.
He told the broadcaster: "But with me missing the holiday season being out here I said I would pay for the caravan. It won't be as warm but I'll have my own friends and a relaxed time."
While many caravan insurance customers may like to wind down before going away, Smith will have to return to the gym before his holiday.
He told the BBC that if he had two weeks off in a row, he would return to the world of sport looking like "Mr Blobby".
The sportsman is one of a number of famous caravan fans.
Motor caravan insurance customers may be interested to know that in the past, Margaret Beckett has praised the industry, noting such holidays bring a lot of pleasure to those enjoying them and a financial boost to the areas surrounding caravan parks.
