Caravan park enjoys fund day

Visitors to a caravan park in the north-west of England were treated to a day of fun and fundraising last weekend.

South End Caravan Park in Walney hosted a variety of events during its third annual fund day, including entertainers, a bouncy castle and a carnival procession, the North-West Evening Mail reports.

Many of those attending the event also dressed up in costumes to take part in the paraded, which included floats based on a variety of themes.

Sarah Grieg, who organised the event, said: "I would like to thank everyone who helped. We wouldn't have been able to do it without them."

The event managed to raise £1,609 for the Furness Oncology ward, according to the newspaper.

A similar fun day was held at another caravan park over the last bank holiday to raise money for local charities, the Winsford Guardian reports.

Staff and visitors at Lakeside Caravan Park in Stocks Hill, Cheshire, were able to raises £1,140 for two cancer charities, Christies and St Lukes.

Tracey Mills, who works at the park, thanked all those who attended the event and helped to raise so much money for the two good causes.
