Parents take their kids out of school for holidays
A growing number of parents are taking their children on holiday during the school term, new research from a caravan parks operator has revealed.
Park Holidays UK claimed that the number of families with children taking holidays at its 25 parks between September and October will be twice that recorded last year, TTG reports.
This trend may be down to the fact that family caravans at its parks during this period are significantly less expensive than during peak times, caravan insurance customers may be interested to know.
According to the news provider, Park Holidays' commercial director Tony Clish said poor weather during the summer months may also be a reason that more people are choosing to book holidays in the autumn.
Earlier this week, Neil Ankers, general manager of Weymouth Bay Holiday Park, told the Dorset Echo that the credit crunch has had a "positive impact on the seaside holiday market".
Even during wet weather holidaymakers still came to stay at the park, Mr Ankers explained, noting that people tend to stay in the park under its covered facilities, "Caravan holidays are the traditional holidays in the UK. They have been going for decades," Mr Ankers told the newspaper.
