Gas leak at caravan park

A caravan park in Wales was sealed off after a gas leak, caravan insurance customers may be interested to learn.

Emergency services set up a 200-metre cordon around Bagnol Caravan Park at Trearddur Bay, Anglesey, the Daily Post reports.

According to the newspaper, the North Wales Fire Service were on hand to inspect an LPG gas storage tank on the site.

The park had to be evacuated for three hours while the 6,000-litre tank was inspected o deal with the potential risk.

In recent months there have been a number of incidents that may have prompted people to check they have adequate caravan insurance.

Last week, fire crews in Ottery tackled a caravan fire in a field beside the A30, the Sidmouth Herald reports.

The fire destroyed the vehicle before the fire service arrived and were able to put out the flames.

"On arrival the crews stated that the caravan was well alight and got to work with two breathing apparatus and one hosereel jet to extinguish the fire," a spokesperson for the fire service told the newspaper.

Meanwhile, a caravan park in Northumberland was recently flooded when the River Coquet burst its banks, damaging a number of caravans and their owners' possessions, according to the Northumberland Gazette.
