Towcar of the Year announced
Skoda has taken this year's Caravan Club Towcar of the Year prize, ahead of 18 other manufacturers.
Following in the footsteps of Ford, which won the overall award last year with its Mondeo Titanium X 2.5T, Skoda's Superb came top of the pile.
The 2.0 TDI model beat off competition from more than 30 other vehicles to be crowned Towcar of the Year, as well as winning its individual category for cars priced between £20,000 and £25,000.
"When Skoda entered three different versions of its Superb for this year's competition, the company must have known it had a winning car on its hands," the Caravan Club said.
"They weren't disappointed and neither were the judges," it added.
Grenville Chamberlain, Caravan Club chairman, said that Skoda ought to have been "proud" of its success.
For caravan insurance customers looking to spend a little less on their new car, the Citroen Berlingo Multispace XTR 1.6 HDi may be more to their taste.
The car was named winner of the sub-£16,000 category and was praised for its "great versatility" and "great performance".
Other winners at the event, which was held at the Royal Automobile Club in London, included the Hyundai i800 Style and the Mercedes-Benz C320 CDI Estate Sport.
