DriveTech given Green Fleet Award
A driver education specialist in Berkshire has been awarded Driver Training Company of the Year in this year's Green Fleet Awards.
DriveTech is recognised for its work in the area of field fuel economy driver education and training.
It has a particular emphasis on the Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving for vans programme funded by the Department for Transport in 2005-06.
This initiative aimed to show it is possible to make 15 per cent savings on fuel without affecting journey times, which may be of interest to caravan insurance customers as providers give incentives for eco-friendly vehicles.
DriveTech has now supplies eco-driving courses for hundreds of its own corporate customers throughout the UK.
Other products provided by the company for corporate drivers include two hour fuel economy workshops for groups of 12 to 15 company car drivers.
In addition to these, DriveTech offers half hour long pit stop seminars for office workers and online, real time WebEx seminars, ideal for field or home-based employees.
Figures published earlier this year by the Society of Motor Manufacturers show that 6,538 hybrid vehicles were manufactured in 2006/07.
In 2005, 3,117 cars with auxiliary batteries as power sources were sold, the statistics show.
