Taking a holiday can recharge batteries

Holidaying in the UK by making the most of caravan insurance and getting out on the road can help to recharge the batteries, one industry expert says.

People still view holidays as important, says Paul Havenhand, marketing director for caravan insurance company Towergate Bakers.

He says that Brits work harder than many of their European counterparts and have fewer bank holidays and longer hours in the office.

"A week or two away from our normally hectic lives whether it be in the UK or further afield is still seen as an important way to re-charge our batteries," he comments.

Research from the firm shows that nearly two-thirds of Brits are now taking cheaper UK holidays, such as a caravan trip, in order to save money.

One in five people say they will ensure their caravan insurance policy is up to date and go caravanning.

Couples or parents in their 30s say a caravan holiday is their preferred way to spend a break in the UK.
