There are different "Launch Packs" available depending whether you go for the £16,995 TwinTop 1.6 model or one of the pricier TwinTop Sport or Design versions.

Punters who sign up for the TwinTop 1.6 get automatic pop-up bars for the car's smart three-piece folding roof - together with 16-inch alloy wheels.

Choosing automatic rather than fixed bars enhances the motor's sleek profile when the roof is down for the long hot summer, but remember that bigger and faster cars seldom equal cheaper car insurance.

Meanwhile, those who favour the extra power of the Astra TwinTop Sport range (£17,795 to £19,995) also get the roof bars, with 17-inch twin spoke alloys to truly set them apart.

Finally, the Astra TwinTop Design range, including the 2.0 Turbo 200PS, comes with 18-inch alloy wheels and a free CD autochanger thrown in.

The freebies are worth up to £500 to those who order their new set of wheels before the end of March, probably enough to cover a few monthly premiums on your Vauxhall car insurance.

The offer is available from all approved Vauxhall retailers and the cars hit the showrooms in May.
