UK travellers given stress-busting tips

Holidaymakers looking to make the most of their caravan insurance with a short British getaway this winter are being given tips on keeping cool behind the wheel.

Caravanning holidays can provide a tranquil and stress-free break, but negotiating the increasingly busy British roads to get to your destination can send stress levels soaring - especially when combined with warring children in the backseat.

According to Europcar Group UK marketing director Catriona Lougher, increased stress levels raise the likelihood of "rash decisions" and accidents on the road.

As a result, the company has released a string of tips aimed at helping UK drivers stay relaxed in the driving seat, with slower driving amongst its top priorities.

Sticking to the speed limit can make for much calmer driving, it suggests, and drivers should also ensure that they have had adequate rest before hitting the road.

Ensuring a comfortable seating position and working out your route - or enlisting the aid of a trusty sat nav - also helps keep a lid on stress levels, and singing along to top tracks can help keep the whole family occupied.

The guidance has been issued in support of National Stress Awareness Day on 5th November and follows news yesterday of a new sat nav device that could also make travelling easier for caravan insurance customers.

RoadTour's Child-Friendly Driving Guide lists over 3,000 attractions and destinations that it believes to be of particular interest to children.
