Motorhome industry continues to surge

Amid the worldwide financial crisis, the motorhome industry continues to grow as UK families turn to caravan holidays to help escape the gloom, a report suggests.

According to a journalist from the Coventry Telegraph, Brits are determined not to let the credit crunch put an end to their dreams of a relaxing holiday.

Caravan insurance customers have long enjoyed the freedom and spontaneity of owning a mobile home, and now others are beginning to catch the bug.

Holidaymakers can take their pick from a variety of locations and excursions, including sunny beach breaks, adventure holidays and relaxing breaks in the countryside.

The report also cites an increasing trend for couples and families with young children to make their break a caravanning one, with motorhomes offering an easy and civilised way of holidaying even for novices.

And for those who do struggle, it suggests, great camaraderie with fellow campers is another perk of the lifestyle, meaning help is always on hand.

With comfortable facilities in most motorhomes and good amenities at campsites across the UK and Europe, the article proffers caravanning as an "interesting" and entertaining alternative to flights abroad and family package holidays.

However, owners will be reminded to take out caravan insurance on their vehicle in case of accidents, particularly in the light of a recent incident at a holiday park in Swindon where firefighters worked for three hours to extinguish one motorhome blaze.
