Caravan parks welcome dog owners
Caravan trips could be the ideal holiday for dog lovers who do not want to leave their pets behind when they go away, a report suggests.
According to canine newspaper Dog World, a poll surveying owners across the UK saw almost half claim that caravan parks were the most welcoming places to take a dog.
Various attractions and businesses, including hotels, pubs and restaurants, were rated for their willingness to accommodate the animals, with one caravan site claiming a Kennel Club award for its innovative "dog-sitting" service.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club secretary, said the group had been "really impressed" with the range of specialist services now on offer for dogs and their owners.
"A survey recently run by the KC shows that 96 per cent of people find the atmosphere more welcoming when dogs are present so this really is a win-win situation," she claimed.
Caravan insurance customers who choose to take their holidays in mobile homes because it allows them the opportunity to take their animals with them can also take advantage of a website that lists the most welcoming attractions.
Dog Friendly allows members access to databases including camping and caravan sites, beaches, restaurants and pubs.
