Fall in crime good news for Belfast visitors

There was good news for caravan owners and visitors to Belfast after police figures revealed a fall in city centre crime over the last six months.

Compared to the same period last year, crime fell by 11 per cent, according to the latest Police Service of Northern Ireland statistics.

Theft from vehicles fell by 35 per cent and there were 285 fewer criminal incidents in the city centre in the past six months, making the area a safer place for families considering a caravan holiday in Northern Ireland.

Chief Superintendent George Hamilton heralded Belfast as a "vibrant and growing city" that was attracting more and more people to the area with its shops, attractions and nightlife.

"The fall in crime figures is a testimony to the efforts and determination of the city centre policing team and its partners to cut crime in Belfast," he said.

Last month, a Northern Irish holiday park invited businesses from across the region to make a visit to the site in order to see for themselves the benefits of using renewable technologies, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

The Share Holiday Village obtains around 99 per cent of electricity and 90 per cent of heat share from renewable sources - making it perfect for caravan insurance customers with an eye on the environment - and claimed that other firms could cut their energy bills by as much as 30 per cent.
