"Bohemian" models aim to attract new caravan owners
Caravan holiday enthusiasts looking to experience the "back to nature" lifestyle associated with many camping trips are being targeted by a new "bohemian" range of mobile homes.
Canvas Holidays' new purpose-built Roulottes de Campagne models are influenced by the style of traditional gypsy caravans, and the firm hopes they will help attract more holidaymakers to the market.
Indeed, the company has already reported a 25 per cent increase in interest from potential first-time campers compared to last year, and the new vehicles are designed to make the most of an increased demand for affordable and natural holiday experiences.
The caravans will include all modern utilities as well as hot water and insulation, offering a "cosy, quirky" accommodation that will sleep a family of five.
Canvas Holidays' managing director Paul Carter said: "Children will love the Roulottes as they give a real sense of adventure, there is something almost fairy tale about them."
Situated at four rural campsites across France, caravan insurance customers looking for an affordable and memorable holiday abroad may be tempted to experience the new range.
Canvas Holidays tour operator introduced eight new sites at the beginning of 2008, including four in Italy and a second park in Portugal.
