Brits look to holiday closer to home
Caravan insurance companies could be set for a huge rise in the number of new applicants after a poll revealed a tendency for Brits to holiday at home next year.
According to research, increasing pressure on finances means almost half of parents intend to relive memories of their childhood holidays with a domestic break in 2009.
Of more than 2,000 respondents surveyed by Towergate Bakers, more than a quarter claimed that they were preparing to ditch package holidays abroad in favour of hitting the open road with caravan in tow.
Meanwhile, just under half intended to take their breaks on the British coast, meaning the roads could be full of motorhome drivers making their way to various locations across the UK this summer.
Among the list of possible destinations could soon be a new caravan park near Swanton Morley, after the Fakenham Times reported that plans for a site including 30 pitches for mobile homes had been approved.
The park is intended to provide a relaxing countryside retreat for UK holidaymakers.
Those thinking of following the trend and experiencing the best of British tourism would be well advised to take out caravan insurance before doing so, however, in order to protect their vehicles against any potential damage.
